CAITLIN BRUFFEY THERAPY
Common Client Experiences
-
Whether you have been to therapy before or if this is your first time, it can feel intimidating to share such personal aspects of one’s self, perhaps for the first time ever, with a complete stranger. I will honor the process of us getting to know one another, and work at a pace you feel comfortable with.
In our first few sessions, we will identify how you want your life to be different, explore what brought you to therapy, and discuss You: your values, identity, family, friends, career or schooling, and habits.

I imagine that at least one area of your life has been deeply affected over the past several years. I provide a non-judgmental space for you to work through relationship challenges, career stress, loneliness, or feelings of angst that your life is not where you would like it to be.

Whether you and your partner have been together for a short time or have gone through life together for many years, I support couples to better learn how to manage natural conflicts that arise in relationships, and provide tools to have more positive and healthy interactions. I help you understand and change negative communication cycles by increasing emotional connection and empathic understanding of each other’s perspectives and experiences.

While you might feel like you are the only one in your circle who feels lost or confused, I assure you that you are not alone. The twenties are a challenging and overwhelming stage of life for most, and therapy can be a space to get support, and plot a course for your future.

Working in the helping field means we are not immune from needing our own safe space to make sense of ourselves. Sitting in the client’s seat will provide some of the best support and guidance for when you work in the therapist’s chair.
